This page explains, in plain words, what information Callsmith uses and why. Questions? Email callsmithstudios@outlook.com.
What we collect
- Public business details that a business has published itself: business name, trade, area, phone number, business email, opening hours, website address and public reviews (for example on Google or Yelp).
- What you send us when you email us: your name, email address and anything you choose to include.
We do not use tracking cookies, advertising trackers or analytics on this website.
Why we use it
- To build a free sample website for your business and to send you one short email about it.
- To answer your questions and, if you say yes, to build and look after your website.
For UK businesses, our reason under UK data protection law is “legitimate interests”: offering a relevant service to a business, using details the business has made public. We only email company addresses in the UK, and we always tell you who we are.
Sample websites
Sample sites are hidden from search engines and clearly marked as a sample made by Callsmith, not your official site. If you don't want yours, tell us and we delete it. If we don't hear back, we delete the sample and your details within 30 days.
How to stop our emails
Reply “stop” to any email from us, or write to callsmithstudios@outlook.com. We will not email you again. We keep only your email address on a short “do not contact” list, so we don't contact you by mistake later.
Who we share it with
We don't sell or rent your details. We use a few trusted services to run the business, such as our email provider and our website host (Cloudflare). They only process data to provide their service to us.
How long we keep it
- No reply to our email: deleted within 30 days.
- Clients: kept while we work together, and afterwards only as long as the law requires for invoices and tax records.
Your rights
You can ask us what we hold about you, ask us to correct it, or ask us to delete it. Email callsmithstudios@outlook.com and we'll reply within one month. In the UK you can also complain to the Information Commissioner's Office (ico.org.uk).
